in a room

6:22 PM
Jim is moved into a private room on the 6th floor of the Nelson building. It has a
nice wide window. He had his first real food since Monday, a light dinner. We
read him all the blog comments so far, he really appreciates them.

For the move to the new room, he had to walk a few steps, and it's great that he
was able to do that already, but it and everything he's been through so far have
left him really tired. Now that he's in a real room and out of the ICU, the
staff will still be checking on him, but just not constantly, so hopefully he
will be able to get some rest tonight.

He has his fancy cell phone now, and maybe tomorrow he'll be updating this himself

Hooray! Walking, eating and in a room. That's progress.
Hope you get a good night's rest.

Leave it to an information professional to create such an efficient and effective way to keep us updated with the latest news. It's been such a relief to read how well everything has progressed. Working in Catholic health care for 28 years I understand the healing powers of both prayer AND hospital cuisine. Jim will be out of there in NO time. :)

Hey Jim,
Glad to hear that you're in your room now and able to get connected to all your electronic toys and gadgets again with fewer tubes and wires connected to you! I have no doubt that you are their best patient and they'll be sad when you're cleared to go home (which I hope will be very soon). I'm looking forward to visiting with you soon. I'm sending you lots of positive thoughts and keeping you in my prayers. Love, Cindy
