Some progress

I have been referred by a friend who is an associate professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to a thoracic surgeon at Hopkins. My medical records and information are being sent to him. He'll review the information and will suggest a course of action.

It is good to be going into the weekend having made this progress. Whew!

Hi Bluffingwildly,
I think you'll remember me as Sue's friend who celebrated her 50th birthday with you and and her other friends. I don't know whether to leave my name or not as I don't know if this comment section is private or not but suffice it to say that you'll know me as you once bluffed me into believing your mother was a mental patient! LOL
Anyway I was saddened to hear of your medical situation but I'm so glad you are proceeding one day at a time, securing advice and support, and are optimistic about the prognsosis. As you may remember my husband has had multiple bouts of 4 different cancers, one of those is adenocarcinoma of the right lung. Johns Hopkins Hospital is a great place to go as they literally saved my husband's life. He continues to battle the disease and will actually have to return in November to follow up additional PET scan activity in the right lung. But he has been treated with surgery, radiation, and radio frequency ablation which keeps knocking it down and we're hopeful that further treatment will be successful at eliminating the cancer again. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you want someone to talk to who understands what you are going through. My husband wants you to know that he is here if you would ever like to visit to talk about your experience or he said he'd be happy to ride up and see you sometime in your neck of the woods. Let me know, okay. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care and hang in there, you'll get through this.

Bluffingwildly, are you kidding me? I'm really sorry to hear this. You've been so concerned about all our small issues, I never once dreamed you were facing this. You bet I'm checking into your blog every day. Hopkins is the best place to be for any cancer treatment. We're lucky it's right in our backyard. Let me know if there's anything I can do. I hear a great cup of coffee is the best cure for this, and you know where you can get one.

Hi Bluffingwildly,
"Bluffingwildly" seems the sort of name an ex-IT employee of HCL would choose. If you are he, and even if you're not, I'm really sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I'll be thinking about you, hoping things go as well as they can, and checking this blog for updates. RV at HCL

Hi,
Really useful info in this blog, even though it is about a really difficult thing. Thanks so much for calling me about this. I'll keep checking here, as will all your many friends who care so much about you.

I know that you will successfully bluff your way wildly through this and come out the other side feeling relieved and victorious.

See ya in choich.

Hey Bluff, Freak just told me. I am thinking of you. Give a holler if there is anything I can do.

You are one of the most caring people I know, now it's time to let others care for you.

Can I have the cigarettes you aren't going to finish? ;)

If only I could pin this on something like smoking. But I've never smoked in my life. I'm one of the small percentage of people who gets this sort of thing anyway. If the reports are true, it's not as aggressive as other forms so that's good news.

Thanks, everyone, for your well wishes. That has meant a great deal to me.

Hi Bluffingwildly,

Glad to hear that you will know something early next week. I am sure that you are ready to have a plan and move forward....waiting seems powerless. Looking forward to the 3D tour inside your torso after my brief glimpse of the tumor on film. Only you would post that! I'm hoping there will be a "Name the Tumor" contest. :)

Hope you don't mind, but I am using your space to leave a word for my friend, Anonymous.

Please tell your husband that he remains in my prayers. As always, you know where to reach me if you have time to talk or need a favor.

On the lighter side, I was amused to note that while YOU chose to remain anonymous , you decided it was fine to name me AND state my age! :) Who knows who is reading this blog? What if it's our classmate whose family thinks she's 42? And if my memory serves (and at my advanced age, I know that's iffy), we were celebrating YOUR birthday in March, not mine. So, dear anonymous, you have been warned....I am thinking a certain home movie from our field trip to the Enchanted Forest would be a hit on you tube.......

Known You Both Since First Grade
